It is used for short-term treatment of GERD, a condition in which the acid contents of the stomach flow back into the esophagus and treatment and prevention of ulcers. Pepcid: Pepcid AC Complete works great to stop heartburn symptoms. It contains an antacid for immediate relief and an H2 blocker for longer term relief. My experience has been that it is effective for almost 24 hours.
One disturbing side effect when I take it on a daily basis for a week or more: DIZZINESS. I have even been wakened during sleep because of the dizziness. It was scary but the dizziness stopped when I cut back on the Pepcid AC Complete.
Pepcid: Seems to work, but after 60 days I really am noticing a terrible smell to my urine and now my breath! Do not know if that's normal or not. Otherwise, feeling better, no gastric spasms since two weeks into therapy.

Pepcid: I have been satisfied with results. My concern is--is Pepcid AC a Proton Pump inhibitor(PPI)? There have been news reports of problems with this type of drug. Please advis if Pepcid AC is one of the drugs causing these problems.
Pepcid: I get bad heartburn and this is the best over the counter medication. it works fast and without any side effects.
Pepcid: I was diagnoses with an hiatal hernia which causes occasional heartburn especially lying down. I did not want to continue on the various 24hr acid reducer perscriptions because of side effects etc. I felt that I just needed to protect my esophagus from acid damage at night. I am happy to say that after 10 years of nightly use and a follow up endoscopy, my esophagus is VERY healthy!
Pepcid: Tried Prilosec first however it gave me terrible headaches. Went to generic Pepcid and after about 2 or 3 weeks noticed significant improvement. Now I take it to keep the symptoms at bay. I take 10MG two times a day.
Pepcid: Pepcid complete goes to work immediately and keeps on going for hours. I have never had to retake this medicine with in a 24 hour time frame. It can be a bit chalky, so I always have a glass of water on hand that I sip while chewing the tablet. Very effective and I recommend. Its the only antacid we keep in the house.
Pepcid: I was taking Protonic, and my dr. took me off it and recommended I take Pepcid Complete, Dual Action and it works great. Now I can't find it at any pharmacy and was told by Rite Aid that it has been taken off the shelf and don't know when it will return.
