Reviews/Feedback:
Neurontin: Initial dosing of gabapentin of 300mg on day one, 600mg on day two and 900mg on day three with increase to dose of 2400mg at which headaches have almost completely subsided.
Neurontin: I have a torn lumbar disk. I have pain in my back that is constant and gets worse with overwork and high humidity. I have no feeling in my feet. My right leg does not work correctly. The Neurontin is mainly attributable to the quality of life that I have today. Then the other medications I take all do their part. The Nerontin blocks the pain nerve signal from registering in my brain. The Methodone deals directly with the pain as does the Lidoderm Patch. The muscle relaxer keeps my muscles from spontaneously contracting, which they will do without the medication. The anti-depressents help me stay positive, which is where I want to be. I usually have a sunny outlook and the medicine helps me keep it. When my last medicine stopped working, I was depressed for a total of 6 months. What a waste of time.
Neurontin: I take the medication three times a day as prescribed, drinking at least a cup of water with each dose. I was originally taking a smaller dose of the gabapentin, but after about six months my thumb pain started to become more frequent again. However, my doctor prescribe me a higher dose and that helped. I do still have problems with the pain from time to time, but not at all like I used to. All in all the drug has made a huge difference in my life thus far.
Neurontin: Three 600 mg. tabs in the a.m. and three 600 mg. tabs at bedtime.
Neurontin: Ten years ago I had spinal chord surgery to remove a tumor. Fortunately it was benign. The down side is that it pressed on the nerves so much that it permanently damaged them. The greatest nerve pain I have is from the center of my chest all the way around on the right side (breast area) to the center of my back on the right. The skin in that area is so sensitive that any clothing even slightly rubbing on it can cause great pain. I have been very happy with Neurotin for the most part. I know it is working because if I am late taking my next dose (every eight hours) the pain starts to increases. The Neurotin alone does not work well. In addition, I have to wear a Lidoderm patch. This has made a huge difference. Now, after nine years I'm beginning to feel my medication isn't working as well as it used to and am planning to review these changes with my doctor.
Neurontin: As I stated, increasing the dosage of this medication finally got my epilepsy under control. I was originally prescribed this drug for pain management of a chronic pain problem, but in a lower dose. While I feel that is has only had a minimal effect of lmy pain, the higher dose has gotten my seizures under control. I also suffer from depression and a panic disorder that may be helped from this drug, but I think that that may be true indirectly, as I think the elimination of the seizures has been the main cause of the relief, particularly the anxiety.
Neurontin: I was prescribed Neurontin for severe depression in 8/09. As of 9/10, I am still taking it but considering ECT.
Neurontin: I've been taking Neurontin about a month along with several other drugs both for pain and a few to control my symptoms. I also suffer migraines, back pain, have an icd implant due to a faulty electrical system in my heart, and an aneurysm in the base of my brain. So far I have only been able to take(1)300MG capsule at bedtime and still have a hard time waking up or functioning well during the day.The label reads 1 every 8 hours. (RIGHT???) I fall asleep wherever I happen to be sitting and wake up in the morning to find I've not moved enough to mess my hair. On the plus side, even though I am not taking them fully yet, my pain is much less, my headaches are manageable, my arms and legs have allot less tingling and burning. It does not hurt nearly as much when I walk into walls or furniture runs into me. So I think I am going to like this new drug, looking forward to when I can increase the dose. I already take 22 pills a day, what can it harm to add 3 more. yeah, I like it fine!!
Neurontin: I have been taking 300mg one capsule 4 times per day (1200mg) for chronic nerve pain (peripheral neuropathy) in my back, spine, feet and legs. The dosage was working well for the first 4 years I was taking it but recently has not been doing the job. I visited my doctor two weeks ago and explained my problem with the increasing pain mostly during the evening and nighttime hours. He has ordered up another MRI to see what is going on with my body and to see if my condition has worsened. In the mean time to control my pain, he has increased the dosage to two 300mg tablets two times a day (1200mg) and four tablets in the evening one time a day (1200mg) for a total of 2400mg per day. So far it has helped and I have had no serious side effects. I have had with some dizziness and tiredness when I take the four 300mg capsules in the evening. This really doesn’t bother me since when I take the evening dose it is usually close to my bedtime anyway and they really help me with the pain and thus better sleep. My MRI is scheduled very soon so maybe they can get to the bottom of my chronic pain and correct the problem in the future. Hopefully they will then be able to back off on my dosage or maybe even get me off this drug completely.
Neurontin: RA patient for 40 some yrs. Pt is under control. My almost constant pain is burning in the whole spine and two large muscles either side of spine. I had peripheral newropathy in 1982 w/ 2 yrs. paralysis from neck down. Recovered mostly, but this pain is getting progressively worse. The Neurontin gives me relief some (300 mg) am and bedtime daily.
